A WOMAN was rescued from the cliffs near Seaton yesterday afternoon during an incident attended by the Coastguard, RNLI, ambulance and police.

The Coastguard search and rescue helicopter was scrambled at around 3pm to take the casualty off the beach after she had been helped by coastguard personnel on the ground.

Looe’s RNLI lifeboats were tasked to attend, but were stood down before arriving at Seaton, when the woman was reported to be safely in the hands of shore-based crew.

Devon and Cornwall Police officers were also in attendance.
