A dramatic rescue took place in the early hours of this morning in Looe.

Firefighters, police, paramedics and lifeboat volunteers were involved after a man fell 50ft down an embankment off Sandplace Road shortly before 3am.

Fire crews from Looe, Liskeard, Bodmin and Tolvaddon Community Fire Stations joined police and ambulance teams and found the casualty, who had fallen into a wooded area, with the aid of a thermal imaging camera.

The man was transported to a waiting ambulance by Looe lifeboat volunteers.

The extent of his injuries is not known.
