Police today investigated the cause of a house fire in Liskeard amid fears that it may have been started deliberately.
But officers and the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service now say it started by accident.
Crews from Liskeard, Looe and Bodmin were at the scene of the fire in a ground floor rear kitchen at Dungarth Green shortly after 9.30am.
Crews put out the blaze using two sets of breathing apparatus, a hosereel and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
They were ventilating the property using a positive pressure fan.
