Firefighters from Looe spent what they say was ’a considerable time’ dealing with a chimney fire in Quay Road, Polperro last night.

Both appliances from Looe went to the scene and were faced with a fire involving a woodburning stove in a two-storey domestic property.

The team inspected the roof area and found multiple flues were involved, and there was found to be a large quantity of nesting material within the flues.
