Devon and Cornwall Police has been graded as ‘good’ in the most recent report from Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services, which was published today.
Deputy Chief Constable James Vaughan said: ‘We welcome the positive nature of the legitimacy report which is based on a concept of policing by consent; crucial in a democratic society.
‘I am extremely proud of our workforce who operate every day in often difficult and challenging environments, in a lawful and ethical manner.
‘We continue to make improvements in the areas identified within the report, which noted improvement was needed in updating complainants on their complaints.’
