A MURDER investigation has been launched by Devon and Cornwall Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team following the death of a 22-year-old man from Plymouth.

Police were called to the car park at Kit Hill, near Callington, at around 9.30pm on Thursday where they found a man unconscious with a significant head injury.

He was taken to Derriford Hospital in a critical condition, but he died on Saturday morning.

A 37-year-old man was also taken on Thursday evening to Derriford Hospital, where he is being treated for multiple injuries which are considered life-changing, possibly life-threatening.

He has been arrested on suspicion of murder but, due to his injuries, remains in hospital receiving treatment.

A 29-year-old man from Gunnislake, who had been arrested on suspicion of murder, has now been released on police bail.

A further 26-year-old male from Callington has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.
