Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of the bodies of two men at a property in St Austell.

Officers were sent to an address on Tregonissey Road in St Austell just after 4.30pm yesterday (December 27).

They found the bodies of the two dead men inside the house. The cause of death is currently being treated as unexplained.

One man, a 31-year-old from St Austell, has been identified and his next of kin have been informed. The second man, thought to be in his 20s, has yet to be formally identified and his next of kin yet to be informed.

Police say they are conducting thorough inquiries and an examination of the scene is under way to establish the causes of death.

A scene guard remains at the property while a forensic examination and searches are conducted.

DI Marie Ward said: ’This investigation is at a very early stage and enquiries continue to establish the circumstances around the deaths.’
