Police are appealing for witnesses after a child had a mobile phone stolen from her in Bodmin.

The incident occurred at the rear of Sainsbury’s between 5pm and 5.15pm on November 19.

The victim, a 12-year-old girl, was with her 11-year-old brother and was using her mobile phone, when a man walked past them, elbowed her in the chest and took her iPhone 5 before fleeing the area.

The suspect fled towards the direction of Bodmin jail. He’s described as a young man of average height and build, wearing all black with his hood up and carrying a backpack.  

Sister and brother were both unharmed but shaken up by the incident.
