The first ever Neighbourhood Watch impact survey is being launched – and all members of the public are encouraged to give theor views, as well as members of the organsiation.

’We are looking at how Neighbourhood Watch impacts in our communities and we want to identify the concerns surrounding crime, fear of crime and the increase in neighbourliness and community spirit,’ said a spokesperson.

’It doesn’t matter if you are part of Neighbourhood Watch or not, we want your views, and the survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete.’

Neighbourhood Watch is a national network of local organsiations which is described as the ’eyes and ears of the community’.

Areas with active Neighbourhood Watch associations are shown to be less likely to be targeted by criminals, and the aim of the organisation is that no-one should feel afraid, vulnerable or isolated in the place where they live.
