EMERGENCY services worked together to rescue a young woman who had been injured while horseriding near Looe earlier today.

Firefighters from Liskeard and Looe were scrambled to a woodland area to assist the Cornwall Air Ambulance and land ambulance.

A spokesperson for Liskeard’s Purple Watch said: “We were requested to assist Cornwall Air Ambulance and South West Ambulance Service Foundation Trust in the extrication/rescue of a young female involving a horse, in a local woodland area .

“Crews worked together using resources from the HART (Hazardous Area Response) team as well as our colleagues from Looe Fire Station who both had 4x4 Mules to assist in the safe rescue.

“The young female was then transported to hospital. A successful multi-agency incident.”
