A motorcyclist suffered what police have described as ‘life-changing’ injuries in an accident yesterday.

The collision happened at 11.27am on Sunday at the junction of the A390 and Highway in East Taphouse.

A blue  Peugeot 307 driven by a 59-year-old woman from Liskeard was exiting Highway and was in collision with a 57-year-old male motorcyclist from Plymouth, who was heading towards Truro. 

As a result of the collision the male rider received serious injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital.

The road was closed for four and a half hours while an investigation of the scene took place.

Any witnesses are asked to ring 101 and quote 402 of July 15.

Officers said they would like to thank members of the public for their patience while the scene was investigated.
