Man and his dog rescued from creek

A MAN and his dog had to be rescued on Saturday evening after a small boat became stuck in mud in the River Tamar.

An appliance from Saltash Community Fire Station and a Specialist Rescue Team from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue were called to Saltmill Creek, Saltash.

Working alongside a team from the Coastguard, crews worked to recover the occupants of the boat, which had become stuck on the mud in the creek.

Using mud rescue mats, the crews created a pathway across the mud.

The man and dog were both rescued uninjured and left in the hands of the police.
