A South East Cornwall church leader has called for people to ’love our neighbours of all creeds and colours’ in the wake of yesterday’s terrorist atrocity in London.

Four people, including PC Keith Palmer, died and dozens were injured when an attacker drove across Westminster Bridge and tried to enter Parliament.

The Bishop of St Germans, the Rt Revd Dr Chris Goldsmith, said: ’The outrage that was committed at the heart of our democracy in Westminster yesterday has left many of us feeling deeply shocked and shaken.

’We pray for all those killed and injured, their families and their loved ones, and also for those who were close by as events unfolded.

’We are profoundly thankful to all those who risked their own safety to help and protect others, especially PC Keith Palmer.

’Today we also pray for all those who continue to seek peace and justice in our world.

’As followers of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us reject the division and hatred which is the outlook and the goal of the terrorists.

’Let us take courage together to refuse to be terrorised, to continue to love our neighbours of all creeds and colours and to overcome evil with good.’
