The loft of a cottage in St Stephens caught fire yesterday afternoon (December 10).
Firefighters from Saltash were helped by a crew from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service’s Camels Head Fire Station to tackle the fire in the two-storey terraced cottage in Wearde Road.
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used one hosereel to put out the fire. A positive pressure ventilation fan was then used to clear the smoke from the cottage.
The fire was started accidentally.
