Local emergency teams went to the aid of a woman who had fallen from the cliff path near Polperro.
Both of Looe’s inshore lifeboats were launched and set off to help as darkness fell just after 4.30pm on Sunday (December 2).
Two lifeboat crew members trained in casualty care went ashore to assist the woman, who had fallen near to Peak Rock.
With the tide receding, the lifeboats were stood down. RNLI crew members remained on scene to assist the Looe and Polruan coastguard teams in taking the woman back down the cliff path to Polperro Harbour, where she was met by ambulance staff.
A spokesperson for Looe RNLI said: ‘Our volunteers were requested to assist a woman who had fallen from the cliff path to the west of Peak Rock. In moderate seas, with south westerly force 4 winds and drizzle, the Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat and the D Class inshore lifeboat headed west towards Polperro.
‘Back at the boathouse, volunteer helm Brian Bowdler recalled that eight years ago to the day, December 2 2010, was the first ever shout for the D Class Ollie Naismith.’
