Looe’s lifeboats went to the rescue of a Looe Island resident who needed to go to hospital.
One of the islanders had called for help because her husband was unwell and NHS Direct had advised he should be taken to an Accident and Emergency department.
Both Lifeboats were launched and the unwell men was helped onto the Atlantic Atlantic Class Lifeboat Alan and Margaret at the island jetty.
He was checked over by the crew before being taken to West Looe quayside where transport was waiting to take him to Derriford Hospital. He was kept in for observation for a few days, said Looe RNLI.
