Smoke inside a home in Commonmoor led to a 999 call yesterday.
Firefighters from Liskeard and Bodmin reported a strong smell coming from a boiler on the first floor at the rear of the property.
The crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to investigate.
After a thorough search the firefighters confirmed there had been a small fire in the immersion heater but it was out on arrival.
A new smoke detector was fitted.
