A resident had to be treated by paramedics for the effects of smoke inhalation after a house fire in Saltash.
Sixteen firefighters from Greenbank, Plymouth, Saltash and Liskeard were called to a property in North Road shortly before 1am today.
The building was full of smoke and the occupant reported crackling noises.
Fire was discovered in the kitchen and crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to tackle the flames.
By 2.20am the fire was believed to be out. Crews damped down the fire and ventilated the property.
