Firefighters tackled a blaze involving four cars in a village car park - but the cause of the fire was not thought to be suspicious, said police.

Crew from Torpoint Fire Station were called to the West Street car park in Millbrook overnight between Saturday August 11 and and Sunday August 12.

The firefighters used hoses to extinguish the flames, but two of the cars were left completely burned out.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: ‘Police were notified at 8.30am on Sunday 12 August that two cars had been burned out and two other cars damaged overnight.

‘The two most seriously damaged were gutted by fire.

‘The fire service had attended but did not report any suspicious circumstances to police.’
