FIREFIGHTERS from Liskeard and Lostwithiel have battled through the night to extinguish a fire at a house in Dobwalls.

Initially two fire engines from Liskeard were sent out to reports of a garage on fire at just after 11pm, but following several calls to report that gas cylinders were exploding, an extra fire engine from Lostwithiel was mobilised.

The family who live at the property have said that thankfully no-one was hurt in the fire.

Crews spent around three hours tackling the blaze, which was extinguished by 1am. One engine and its crew remained on the scene through the early hours to monitor hotspots.
