An elderly man has died following a serious collision in Looe last month.

Emergency services were called around 12.20pm on Friday, May 19 to reports of the collision between a Citroen C3 and Ford Ranger on the A387, Polperro Road.

The Citroen driver, a 78-year-old man from Looe, received life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital. He died in hospital on Tuesday, June 13.

The driver of the Ford, a 52-year-old man also from Looe, was not injured in the collision.

Police closed the road for four-and-a-half hours while a specialist forensic examination of the scene was carried out.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team are appealing for witnesses to the collision.
