A community hall at St Merryn has been damaged by fire.

Firefighters from Padstow and Wadebridge found the hall heavily smokelogged yesterday (April 5). Teams wearing breathing apparatus entered the building and made their way to the first floor where they used a high pressure hosereel to put out the fire. The building was then ventilated using the positive pressure fan.

The cause is believed to have been accidental.
