Polruan co-responders cared for an emergency patient until the arrival of Ambulance paramedics this afternoon, their second 999 call this month.
From April 2015 until December 2016, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service co-responders have answered more than 1,300 calls.
Firefighters from six Community Fire Stations in Cornwall not only provide fire cover but also act as a co-response resource in medical care, in partnership with South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
The scheme has been running since 1999, serving the communities of St Keverne, St Ives, Mullion, St Mawes, Helston and Polruan.
