The body of a man has been discovered on a Cornish beach.

The discovery was made near the most southerly point of the Lizard.

Police said they do not believe the discovery to be missing RSPCA Inspector Mike Reid, who disappeared from Porthcurno shortly before Storm Imogen struck Cornwall two weeks ago.

The alarm was raised after a member of the public called coastguards yesterday morning (Saturday, February 20).

Police say the circumstances do not appear to be suspicious.
