Firefighters tackled a large blaze in a detached double garage at West Taphouse this morning.

Nine firefighters on two appliances from Lostwithiel and Bodmin were sent to the scene shortly before 11am and were quickly reinforced by another crew.

There was a big plume of black smoke pouring from the building, a detached two-storey double garage measuring 6 x 6 metres. The fire was in the roof space.

By 11.43am, crews remained on scene damping down hot spots.
