The man who died following a collision involving a car and a lorry on the A38 near Notter, Saltash on Tuesday (June 28) has been named as 52-year-old Andrew Head from Penryn.

The collision involving a blue Nissan Note and a light goods vehicle happened shortly before 8.45pm. Both vehicles were travelling between Saltash and Landrake on the main A38 at the time of the collision.

The family of Mr Head have said: ’We are devastated with the loss of Andrew, who was a wonderful father to Shania and Nyreen, a loving son and loved brother of Mark, Steven and wives.

’Andrew was also a much loved uncle and friend to all the people he worked with at Falmouth docks. He is totally irreplaceable, and our lives will never be the same.’

The road was closed in both directions to enable officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit to carry out a forensic examination of the scene. Officers are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
