More than 300 phone calls flooded in after the murder of Cornish housewife, Lyn Bryant, which happened a year ago this week, was featured on BBC Television's Crime-watch on Tuesday night.
Detective Superintendent Chris Boarland of Devon and Cornwall police made the appeal for information himself, asking for help in identifying a heavy set, beareded man, in his 50's seen in a white van near the crime scene.
Forty one year old Mrs Bryant was stabbed to death as she walked her dog in a country lane on the Roseland Peninsula. Seventy police officers are still engaged full time on the murder enquiry and hundreds of men throughout the county have been questioned about their movements on that day.

Damage caused in St Keyne
Police are investigating two offences which occurred in St Keyne recently - and are appealing for witnesses.
A property in Valley View was broken into between 6pm on Tuesday October 5 and the early hours of the following morning. Damage was caused to fencing in the garden and a large tractor inner tube was stolen. PC Ben Hollins of Liskeard police station said the inner tube has been recovered by police, but the damage to the fencing was costly. Anyone who saw anything suspicious is asked to contact police - this plea also applying to an incident involving attempted arson at the parish church of St Keyne. PC Hollins said an attempt was made between October 6-8 to set the notice board in the church porch alight.
Police are also investigating a burglary at Liskeard business centre, Station Road, Liskeard between 5.10pm on October 12 and 8am on October 13. Damage was caused to the premises.

Liskeard appeal
Damage was caused to the Liskeard Leisure Lounge arcade in Market Street after vandals broke their way in through the front entrance.
The break-in occurred around 2am on October 9, and police say the cost of damage is high.
They have appealed for anyone who saw, or knows anything about the incident to contact them.

Police rescue injured man
Two Torpoint police officers on foot patrol in Macey Street at about 10.40pm on Wednesday evening, heard sounds of someone in breathing difficulties behind a closed yard door.
They jumped an adjoining wall to gain access where they found a 63 year old man collapsed on the ground. An ambulance was called and on its arrival the man's heart and breathing stopped. He was resuscitated by paramedics and a policeman drove the ambulance to Derriford Hopital.
The man is reported to be in a critical condition
School fire
Fire crews in the Caradon area were called to help out at the huge fire over 50 miles away at Budehaven School, Bude in the early hours of Thursday morning. Appliances from Liskeard, Saltash and Callington were among the 16 pumps called in to fight the blaze.
