A party was held in December to celebrate 85 years of Linkinhorne WI, which was founded in 1931.

The branch president Carrie welcomed all past and present members and special guests, including County Chairman Barbara Corbett and Pam Parnell, of St Stephens WI, a retired county adviser.

Members celebrated the occasion with an afternoon of memories, a wonderful tea, entertainment from Roger and Viv Bennett on guitar and flute and, of course, Jerusalem sung by all the members.

Linkinhorne WI’s meeting on Wednesday, February 8, at 2pm will be in the Cross Link Centre. The talk will be by Dorothy Kirk and is entitled ‘Beyond the Tamar’.
