NEILL Williams has stood down as manager of Edgcumbe's East Cornwall Premier League side and will be replaced by his assistant, Mackenzie Arnold.

The former Torpoint Duchy team boss and Edgcumbe FC player took over from Ryan Goddard at the start of the 2010-11 season.

Since then, he has built a squad of some very talented players, young and experienced.

A statement from the club read: 'The decision was made with the club's best interests at heart that Neill was to step down as Edgcumbe FC manager.

'Mackenzie Arnold, who was Neill's assistant, has been appointed as the new manager.'
