Caradon U16s 1
Penzance U16s 1
After three hours of 30 volunteers clearing snow from the astro at Lux Park the pitch was deemed playable and Caradon U16s were able to take on Penzance in the penultimate match of the county league.
With both teams taking unbeaten records into the game, players battled for supremacy. Captain Beth Harris started to dominate the midfield alongside her team-mates Olli Dinnis and Olli Allsop .
Penzance put pressure on the home team but debutant Josh Rundle and the assured Nathan Jeffery prevented any clear chances and keeper Dan Harris was left to mop up any half chances. Charlie Harris was proving a calming influence at left back with some brilliantly-timed tackles.
An individual goal from Penzance's star player meant the half-time score was 1-0, but the game was far from over. Caradon started to gain the upper hand. Georgia Davies was gaining ground on the right and Tyler Walsh and Jess Jones had chances which were well saved by the visitors' keeper or were just wide of the post.
Tenacious Tom Harris was winning more ball and Caradon were pushing for an equaliser and Low-enna Arnold provided the perfect ball for Walsh to squeeze the equaliser into the goal.
The county league hangs in the balance with a winner takes all match in the return fixture on Sunday.
A huge thank you to all those who helped clear the pitch to allow this game to go ahead.
