A FIRST-half hat-trick from Ben Applegate helped Torpoint Athletic to a first-ever win in the George Evely Cup final between the respective East Cornwall Premier and Jolly's Cornwall Combination Cup winners. On a blazing hot day at Nanpean, the Tamarsiders were stung early on when Dominic Pullen rose to head St Day into the lead. However, that was as good as it got for the Jolly's side, who were torn apart by their opponents' counter-attacks.
