Torpoint got their season up and running with this well-deserved victory thanks to a second-half goal from Carmen Thornton.

However, the hosts had to come from behind after their defence was caught out in the seventh minute when Rebecca Churches headed the ball in from a corner.

The Tamarsiders struck back just seven minutes later when Donna Gage headed home a Thornton cross.
