St Mellion Men were at home when they played China Fleet in the Sunday Mail Classic golf match.

The Nicklaus Signature course was in good condition, considering the game had been postponed twice due to frosty weather, eventually being played on Saturday in good sunny conditions.

The day went to St Mellion, 31/2 to 11/2, as they made good use of their home advantage. St Mellion Club captain Frank Blake, complimented China Fleet on their great attitude and sportsmanship, both on and off the course. Man of the match was Jonathan Behennah winning 6/5. Also of note, playing in team colours for the first time, was Cameron Kenworthy with a credible half, well supported by caddie Gary.

Frank was proud of team captain Ian Jasinskyj and his squad and they are looking forward to the next round draw.
