WH BOND LISKEARD AND DISTRICT SNOOKER LEAGUE LATEST

UNBEATEN leaders and defending champions St Dominick A have opened up a five-point lead at the top of the Premier after five weeks after crushing Pelynt A 5-0 on Wednesday night.

Martin Pitcher cracked in breaks of 33 and cleared up with a 58, while John Daniell came close to stopping the whitewash against Ian Hunn.

Calstock slipped to third after going down 4-1 to St Neot with Ian Hawke securing the match at 3-0 with a 25 break against Darryl Edmunds. Kevin Rich pocketed a 25 as well to pull one back, but in last frame Mark Gregory chipped in with a 33 against Malcolm Floyd.

Looe Social moved into second place with Darran Lock hitting breaks of 34 and 28 in his win over Downderry's A Paul Woodman. Nigel Gilbert got the sole point after producing a 30 break against Matt Vessey.

It’s very tight at the bottom with Dobwalls last after losing 3-2 to Freathy who join Lerryn in trouble after they were leapfrogged by Pelynt D as James Stevens beat Keith Armitage to stop the rut.

Essa Club picked up their first win of the season after defeating St Dominick B who are having a slow start. St Dominick chairman Darren Hunn did make a fine 37 in his win.

In Division One, Luckett’s in-form Aldon Livingston knocked in a 28 break against Trevelmond’s Greg West to help lead his team to a 3-2 win.

Menheniot B whitewashed Downderry B which included Angela Delbridge’s black ball success against Mick Crutchley, while Polbathic B held on to the Runabout Shield and went top with a 3-2 victory over St Germans who saw Julian True beat both Anita and James Ivey.

Trewidland slipped to second after losing 3-2 to St Ive in which Adrian James scored 127 points and conceded just three in his two victories.

Liskeard Cons started off with wins for Terry Hooper and Mark Snell before Tom Marjoram and David Pendray hit back forcing a decider in which Cons’ Dan Marchant defeated Michael Haley.

Pelynt B bounced back from their defeat the week before by winning 4-1 against Polbathic A who saw Mike Warr end Tim Treeby’s unbeaten run.
