DESPITE heavy rain causing many of the county's fixtures to be cancelled last weekend, Menheniot-Looe were once again fortunate with the weather as they travelled to the North Coast to face St Minver in Division Two (East) of the Jolly's Cornwall Cricket League.

Although the ground saw much overnight rain, conditions were clearing and sunshine could clearly been seen in the distance.

The captains both agreed to a 3.30 pm start, with the game being reduced to 34 overs.

Sharks skipper,Danny Lee won the toss and elected to bowl first on a very wet wicket.

The wicket wasn't very good for batting, but the bowlers had the same problem.

Mike Maiden and Hugh Rogers were the pick of the visiting bowlers, taking two wickets apiece as St Minver pressed to a challenging total of 157 for seven – thanks largely to 60 not out from South African Jason Lacon-Allen and 28 from Richard Petacost (28).
