SALTASH emerged victorious in this fast and fierce encounter with their Gloucestershire-based rivals to progress to the semi-finals of the South West Region National Cup.

The hosts had clear chances in the opening quarter, but it was the visitors who touched down first before adding a penalty to lead 8-0 as the interval loomed.

However, from a disrupted scrum near the visiting line, Saltash flanker Sam Davies-Hunt pounced on a loose ball to score and reduce the arrears.

With the sides well-mat-ched up front, both teams had players sin-binned but, overall, Saltash's discipline prevailed.
