SALTASH controlled the midfield in this midweek clash with League leaders Bodmin, but the cham-pions-elect showed exactly why they are odds-on favourites to retain their title.

This was a typical Bodmin performance, where they surrendered the majority of the possession to their hosts but then took the majority of the limited scoring opportunities.

To be fair, the Ashes enjoyed a lot of the approach play without really troubling Town stopper Kevin Miller, and they were made to pay as a goal in each half saw the visit-

ors open up an 11-point gap over second-placed Plymouth Parkway.
