Cornwall Premier Division
Grampound Road v. Callington
THIS very unusual game was all over by 4.00 pm, after Callington had won the toss and elected to bowl first in overcast conditions.
Jim Shorten went for 16 from his first two overs, mostly to Tom Hughes.
But with Aidan Libby bowling three maidens in his first four overs, Shorten quickly sorted out his radar, and it was he who dismissed the in-form Aussie, Aaron Todd for just five, thanks to a Joe White diving catch in front of the first slip.
The Callington reply was simply incredible, as it started at 3.33 pm and was over by 3.58 pm.
This was down to Matt Robins who, amazingly, scored 63 of the required runs in only 26 balls and in 6.1 overs. The right-hander was in great form as he hit 12 fours, one six and three threes with the other four runs coming in wides.
