TWO Callington School pupils were among the four promising athletes from Tavistock Athletic Club who travelled to Cardiff for the Indoor Track and Field South West Championships.

Patrick Channings and Jade Kinsey, together with club-mates Jenny Milburn and Emma Ryder, were taking part in their first competition of 2014 – and all were delighted to bring home a medal.

For three of them, it was the first time they had ever run on an indoor track, which is quite different to outdoor track as the indoor one is half the distance and banked, with very tight corners.
