Despite not having much time to practice for the competition, Liskeard dominated the one-day tournament, getting the better of five other teams to deservedly lift the Cup.
Their first game was a tough one against Penzance and, after an early-morning trip to Camborne, the East Cornwall girls were slow to get into their stride, being easily beaten.
The game, however, was to be a wake-up call as they kept a clean sheet and picked up a point against Charlestown Reds and then took the lead against tournament favourites Truro Whites, thanks to a great Lisa Pearce strike.
A sucker punch goal in the closing moments, however, saw the game end 1-1.
Liskeard still needed two wins in their last two games to guarantee a place in the semi-finals, but they played the best football of the day to defeat another Truro team, 3-0, with cracking goals from Chloe Williams, (2), and Sophie Woodhouse, and then repeated that feat with another emphatic victory over Charlestown Yellows with more spectacular goals from Pearce and Woodhouse.
Second spot at the end of the group stages saw Lis-keard through to a semi-final against Charlestown Reds, where Amber Jeffrey and Rosie Gibson worked their socks off as Liskeard won 1-0, thanks to another Williams goal.
That set up a final against pre-tournament favourites Truro Whites, the holders of the trophy for the past two seasons.
