Christmas is now well and truly on the horizon – and the Cornish Times’ latest print edition is marching towards the festive period in fine style.
This week’s edition, out today, features nine pages of local sport, including all of the readers’ favourites.
We lead the back page on a Liskeard mum and daughter who have just played at the Muscular Dystrophy UK Powerchair Football Championships in Nottingham.
There is also good news on the local cricket front, with Liskeard Cricket Club giving us details of a bright future for the club which almost folded earlier this year.
In football, Liskeard Athletic were knocked off the top of the SWPL division one west table last weekend – but they have the chance to go back there tomorrow.
There is Ross Reid’s Argyle Column, plus reviews from the East Cornwall Premier League and the Duchy League.
Caradon Hockey Club’s men’s first team won their 11th successive match in the West Hockey League southern division. We have a report and pictures.
Our hockey page also features reports from games played by Caradon Ladies.
In rugby, we have match reports on Liskeard-Looe’s game against Plymstock Albion Oaks in torrential rain at Lux Park, and Saltash’s last-gasp heartbreak on their travels.
Our digest pages include darts, euchre, snooker, billiards, pool, skittles, bowls, point-to-point racing and youth football.
We also have a page of golf with presentation of awards events at St Mellion and Whitsand Bay veterans’ sections, plus news of Sharon Daw’s seven marathons in seven days.
