A TEENAGER from Pensilva has become the National Junior Tetrathlon champion for 2017 after success as part of the East Cornwall Hunt Pony Club team at the national championships.

Fourteen-year-old Charlotte Hicks shot a maximum score of 1,000 – 10 bullseyes – with an air pistol on a seven-metre range and she was awarded best shoot at the event at Bishop Burton College in Beverley, East Yorkshire, last weekend.

She went on to win the overall competition, making her National Junior Tetrathlon champion.

And the team, which also included Phoebe Frost, 14, from Saltash, and Demelza Morris, 15, from Landrake, finished overall runners-up.
