LOOE Bowling Club members officially opened their Centenary Year when town mayor David Bryan bowled the first wood in time-honoured tradition.

And the celebrations received a welcome but surprise boost when new captains John Hickman and Pat Brunskill announced that Bowls England would be sending a delegation to the Hannafore club on Wednesday, May 15, to launch the special year.
