Looe Sailing Club's First

Race of 2015

Saturday heralded the return to Looe Bay of the red, white and blue sails for Looe Sailing Club's first race of the 2015 season with 24 boats taking to the water.

After a false start and returning back across the starting line, Dave Jackman, moving over from the Enterprise fleet to the Redwing fleet, with his crew John Crabb had a hard fight with 2014 season champions Colin Crabb and Adam Hayler.

It wasn't until the end of the second beat that Jackman and Crabb evenutally managed to catch and finally overall Crabb and Hayler to finally take line honours.

In the Laser fleet there was a four-way fight for podium places between Callum Johns, Callum Dingle, Rob Dewe and Eddie Johns. With the two Callums out in front fighting for first place in the dropping East-North-Easterly wind, all four boats had closed to within a boat's length during the final reach to the finish but it was Callum Johns who took first place.
