DESPITE the counter attraction of the popular music festival taking place in Looe, the club's sailors embarked on a double-header weekend.

Last Saturday afternoon saw very light winds pick up slightly as the start-time approached; however, they soon fell away, leaving the race committee with no option but to call an early halt to the action.

Esther Bowdler and Scarlet Crago claimed victory in the Mirrors' class; Colin Crabb and Adam Hayler secured the honours in the Redwings' section; Callum Dingle, the Lasers, and David and Chris Jackman, the Enterprises.

The following day saw Looe members join more than 18,000 other sailors around the world to take part in 'Bart's Bash' an event held in memory of former Olympic sailor Andrew 'Bart' Simpson, who tragically died last year.
