CALLINGTON hit the ground running with an emphatic win over Grampound Road at Moores Park in the Premier Fifty50 Cup.

Batting first in sunny conditions, Callington's County openers Matt Robins and Jake Libby showed their class, assisted by some wayward bowling, which produced a total of 35 wides.

Robins scored more quickly than Libby but it was his county colleague, Chris Hunkin, who tempted him to hoist one to Lewis Sanders, after Robins had scored a fine 102 which included 15 fours and two sixes.

After that, Libby continued to hold the innings together, gradually increasing his scoring rate, to finish undefeated on a magnificent 160 which also included 15 fours and two sixes.
