SALTASH United returned to winning ways after two consecutive Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division defeats with this Wednesday night victory over a young Bovey outfit who did well until the hosts scored three goals in the final 25 minutes.

Saltash looked tentative in the first half, but their opponents were unable to capitalise on this and found themselves a goal down on 42 minutes when Sam Hughes collected a through-ball to slide the ball under the advancing Tom Buckler.

It was not until the 65th minute that the home side doubled their lead as Marc Thorne turned the ball home from close range, despite Bovey protests.

Saltash were now rampant, with Luke Doddridge hitting a post before Hughes blasted over.

A third did arrive on 74 minutes, courtesy of Ross Saint's finish, before Darren Hicks completed the scoring four minutes from time.
