Veterans (Fossils) Section gained revenge for their 5-3 defeat at Tavistock with a 6-2 home win over their rivals.
The course played well and the Fossils responded in fine fashion.
Although the captains' match did not go quite to plan, the following six home teams were dominant and established a winning 9-7
aggregate win, as well as on the day.
Nearest the pin was contested on the iconic 14th, where Bruce Sobey for the Fossils and John Thewlis for Tavistock took the prizes.
However, the undoubted performance of the day lay with St Mellion's Mick Heaton, who stroked his ball down the long par-three third with his five iron to record a hole-in-one.
