CLEAR blue skies welcomed the Fossils for the second week running in the latest competition at St Mellion International Resort.

However, the temperature at the start of the event registered minus 4°C.

The testing conditions seemed to inspire the players, not the least Mike Fryer who had the highlight of the day by recording a hole-in-one on the difficult par three 14th, across the water.

That ace did not put Mike onto the podium, though, because a number of Fossils – led by Bob Acford – demonstrated their abilities by returning high scores.
