A FIELD of 56 competed for the oldest trophy in the Fossils' cupboard – the Arthur Wilcocks Shield at St Mellion Golf Club.

First contested in 1984, it is the traditional preamble to the Fossils' Christmas lunch. The competition also features a second trophy – 'The Dangler' – which is awarded to the player who supports the rest of the leaderboard.

The day saw 11 'twos' recorded, including three for David Dow and two for David Brockbank
